Thursday’s Child Global Presents You Is For Unity Exhibition in London

Thursday’s Child presents You Is For Unity, a new group exhibition bringing together photographers, filmmakers, and digital creators from around the world to explore the threads of unity – global and local.

The last decade has been marked by unprecedented global challenges – many of them fuelled by increasing division. It’s easy to feel as though humanity is being pushed further apart. A closer look, however, tells a different story. The last decade has also been one of extraordinary unity; of global calls for greater empathy, solidarity, and action; of public displays of collective grief and joy in equal measure.

You Is For Unity brings together 36 artists from 14 countries to offer a glimpse into what unity today looks like the world over. Together, they tell stories of love, care, and support amongst the communities they call home. They document the everyday moments of joy, resilience, and solidarity that surround them, offering necessary reminders of how even the – seemingly – smallest acts of resistance can inspire hope and fortitude despite all odds.

Participating artists include: Alex Kurunis, Alina Gross, AnaHell, Anna Chocholi, Austn Fischer, Caroline Xia, Chan Yang Kim, Christopher Garcia, Dafe Oboro, David Nana Opoku Ansah, Elle Taler, Fran Gomez De Villaboa, Frankie Perez, Géssica Hage, Hansraj Dochaniya, Ivory Campbell, Jasia Kaulbach, Jean Estene, Jesse Navarre Vos & Kopano Maroga, Johnny Fonseca, Jude Lartey, Kalina Pulit, Katya Ilina, Kelly McKay, Olga de la Iglesia, Paola Vivas, Raajadharshini Kalaivanan, Raphaël Gaultier, Ruby Okoro, Scott Semler, Shitanda, Tair Adato, Tirtha Lawati, Victoria Barmak, and Yannis Davy Guibinga.

The opening will be on Thursday, March 14, from 6pm to 9pm at the Photobook Cafe, 4 Leonard Circus, London, EC2A 4DQ.
