Dafe Oboro

Dafe Oboro is an artist based in Nigeria and Ghana working with photography and film to explore ideas around masculinity, movement across time and space, and the social-political state of contemporary Nigeria. He aims to destabilise reductive representations of Africa which are often encountered in mainstream media, encouraging a more nuanced engagement with the realities of the cultural context to which the artist belongs.

Dafe’s film and photography work has been screened at the National Maritime Museum, London (2023); the V&A, London (2021); Art X Live, Lagos (2019); Fashion Film Festival Milano, Milan (2019); Dutch Design Week, Eindhoven (2019). Film festival selections include Yale Africa Film Festival (2021); London Short Film Festival (2021); Africa in Motion Film Festival (2019); Cinewax Online African Film Festival (2019); Fashion Film Festival Milano (2018).
