Denise Stephanie

Denise Stephanie Hewitt is a Caribbean, Brooklyn-born visual artist and multi-hyphenate creative. Her portraits have graced Essence Magazine, Cultured Magazine, the Converse Soho Flagship, Headline Gallery, the Apollo Theatre, Photoville, and the streets of New York and Times Square.

Hewitt’s photographic works live at the intersection of fashion, editorial, and documentary, with a primary focus of building an archive of black life, artistry, and autonomy through visual culture. Her leadership across academia and creative fields landed her in Essence Magazine’s debut list of 10 Creators Under 30 working to deepen the impact of Black cultural production.
