Kevin Buitrago is a Paris-based photographer who was born in the mountains of Colombia and raised on the beaches of New York. He discovered photography at the age of 15 by learning black and white film processing and printing and he continues to work on analog and often with the same techniques. Upon graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, he began pursuing photography as a career, largely influenced by New York’s unique and expressive nightlife scene. His focus to this day revolves around portraiture and the individual, mixing elements of documentation and always with a strong focus on uncommon casting.
Kevin has contributed to publications such as Dazed, i-D, The Face and Interview and the list of clients under his belt include Jean Paul Gaultier, Paco Rabanne, Nike, Maison Kitsuné and Études. He has also worked as a Photo Editor for NYC downtown-based Office magazine.
